Ransomware attacks have become a significant threat to businesses and individuals alike.

Substantial financial losses are being reported globally. In 2023 alone, ransomware attacks resulted in an estimated $20 billion in damages, and that number is expected to rise in the coming years. This growing epidemic shows how crucial it is for organizations to take preventative measures against these types of cyberattacks.

Once a system is infected, ransomware encrypts critical data, making it inaccessible to the owner unless a ransom is paid. However, even if the ransom is paid, data recovery is far from guaranteed. In fact, studies show that only about 65% of organizations are able to recover some or all of their encrypted data after paying the ransom.

The process used in these attacks typically involves phishing emails, malicious attachments, or vulnerabilities in outdated software that allow the ransomware to infiltrate systems. Once inside, the malware spreads across the network, encrypting files and demanding payment, often in cryptocurrency, for the decryption key.

Despite the growing threat, many businesses still struggle to recover fully, with some facing long-term impacts on their operations and reputation
